Eastern Sierra Nevadas - here we come !

This week in Yosemite

Road crew excellence !

June 18 - 25, 2011:  Cindy and I and our friends, Marsha and John drove to Yosemite along the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountain Range recently. We stayed at a lodge in June Lake, just outside Yosemite. This year  Yosemite had a snowfall of 200% more than the last year. We saw the most amazing waterfalls due to the unexpected and unusual amount of snow. It's all melting! The snow on the Tioga pass was two stories deep and we thought it would take weeks for the snow plows to remove it. Fortunately, they opened the pass the day we arrived in June Lake!  We were 8,000 feet above sea level and had an amazingly beautiful, lovely week. Not only lots of driving (88 miles of winding mountain roads to Yosemite Valley) but also, thankfully, we've learned the value of resting between trips! We are very grateful to Cindy and her deliciously nutritious meals prepared every day!

This trip has prepared us all for the big TRANSLATION CLASS in July. See you there!
