How Did It Get So Late So Soon?

by Sara Walker

I always knew Time was fucked up, starting with my mother. This must be how she saw time—distorted—expanding and contracting according to how she felt.

Guess what? That didn’t help in cooking and baking. It didn’t help when driving me to school before the late bell rang.

It didn’t help her to catch a train or plane. All this time I thought she had a bad relationship with clocks and time.

What I did not know then was she had entered the Warped Universe through the Time Portal........where time was fluid, according to your feelings and....where other time-challenged souls met, no longer judged for being late or slow. No Mañana to plan for. It no longer mattered how distracted she was and how long she took to get something done. Her secret was out when she shouted to me, “Goodness Gracious Sakes Alive, Home Sweet Home at last!”

Any problems with being in the Warp Universe? Well, just for us clock users, and especially the clock watchers among us. Wait a minute now. There could be unlimited freedom without clocks and appointments to have to pay attention to.

Maybe I can get in on what those Warpers are enjoying too, and get Outside of time more often. Who wouldn’t want to spend what seems like forever in sensual dreaming, massage and love making, and no time at all recuperating from a painful injury?

I’m curious to feel as they do, like a dog wagging two tails! I think I’m ready to drop into timeless awareness. I have an hour free on Monday at 5 pm. Pacific time.
