Intellect

INTELLECT = the power of knowing as distinguished from the power to feel and to will; the capacity for knowledge

QUESTION: Is your intellect reasoning truthfully?

STORY: We human beings have an intellect or a brain. My dictionary defines brain as: “the portion of the vertebrate central nervous system enclosed in the skull and continuous with the spinal cord through the foramen magnum that is composed of neurons and supporting and nutritive structures (such as glia) and that integrates sensory information from inside and outside the body in controlling autonomic function (such as heartbeat and respiration), in coordinating and directing correlated motor responses, and in the process of learning.” Wow! Whew! So our intellect integrates sensory information to help our body survive, to respond automatically and to learn. What about today? Does our intellect get sucked into whatever Artificial Intelligence blasts at us as we watch the “Breaking News Alerts” OR the pharmaceutical advertisements OR the Social Media posts OR the constant text messages? Are we overwhelmed? Are we falling into herd consciousness? Honestly, today we all must train our brain - our intellect - to search for the Truth. THE MOST INCREDIBLE TOOL TO TRAIN OUR INTELLECT IS TRANSLATION! Learn more more about Translation!

QUOTES

“I know that I am intelligent, because I know that I know nothing." ~ Socrates

“Two qualities are indispensable: first, an intellect that, even in the darkest hour, retains some glimmerings of the inner light which leads to truth; and second, the courage to follow this faint light wherever it may lead.” ~ Carl von Clausewitz

“If we listened to our intellect, we'd never have a love affair. We'd never have a friendship. We'd never go into business, because we'd be cynical. Well, that's nonsense. You've got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.” ~ Ray Bradbury

EXERCISE

STOP.

Sit quietly. Assume an erect posture.

Sense the breath.

Observe any tension in your body. Just observe and relax.

Get your pen and paper and write a few words or draw a few lines about the practice of simply BEING here now. Feel the Energy of the Universe flowing through your arms, legs, tummy, shoulders.

Move forward into your day willing to learn to reason truthfully and lovingly.
