March of the Muses: Herman Melville

This Sunday, March 10th, is 2024’s New Moon in Pisces! Pisces, as many of you will know, is a mutable water sign. People who have planets in this sign may have an intuitive sense of where to go and are ready — sometimes almost too ready — to dissolve a current sense of identity for whatever is appearing around them.

Today’s Muse, Herman Melville, author of the infamous Moby Dick, has Pluto in Pisces. Pluto is a planet, or perhaps better said, an astrological marker for deep transformations and subterranean depths. In Pisces, Pluto signifies a process of eliminating blockages to your imagination and, in turn, to those things that keep you materially (earth) bound.

Moon in Pisces, on the other hand, suggests a need for creativity and dreaming and even for finding your “True North.” Who better to guide us in this process than Mr. Melville?

“It is not down on any map; true places never are..”

Herman Melville, Moby Dick, or The Whale

Exercise: 08 through 14 March

This week pay attention to what is appearing in your world. Are you adapting to these circumstances and people unconsciously? Or are you using the circumstances and encounters with others as a catalyst for creativity? The former leads to a feeling of being adrift at sea, while the latter can take you to a true place beyond your wildest imagination.
