March of the Muses: Kurt Cobain
Welcome to the first installment of The March of the Muses, in which I will post an inspirational quote every Friday in March!
March is a tricky month, whether you are in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. It’s a time of transition, neither one season or the other. You might say that March is a non-binary month.
It can be a time of stagnation. You want to be creative and express your originality, but it’s so easy to just “copy and paste” what others are doing / saying / thinking — or even what you have been doing since last year or years before.
Find inspiration in this series of quotes to explore who you are and, in the end, be your own muse!
“Do your own thing. Others own their own thing. If you copy too much, you'll find yourself in late night cocktail lounge cover band limbo.”
Kurt Cobain, Journals
Exercise: 01 through 07 March
This week watch out for a time when you feel it would just be easier to do what others are doing. Then spend a few minutes thinking about what you really want — then do it in some way! If you can’t do it literally, find a symbolic way to express your unique point of view.
