New Year's Mahalo
As 2021 draws to a close we want to express our deep gratitude to all of the students and volunteers who have continued to keep The Prosperos moving forward. During the coming year we look forward to building upon what has been accomplished, some of which is reported below.
Teaching
At the instigation of Dean Alfred Haferkamp three class series were planned and executed in Spring, Summer, and Fall 2021. In the pandemic environment all of these classes took place online using the Zoom teleconference platform. Presented several times were :
Cosmic Intention Therapy
Advance Seminar
Translation
Releasing the Hidden Splendour
Presented just once were :
Self Encounter
Supracargo
*Comprehensive Workshop Seminar
*Enhanced Crown Mysteries
The classes from the Pinnacle Series (*) were presented for the first time in many years and required deep preparation.
These events were augmented by a monthly Sunday Meeting schedule and a supplemental project by Calvin Harris, H.W., M., called "Conversations with Calvin". Heather Williams, H.W., M. has continued with her drawing exercise classes as well as a series of book-club meetings on Ontological topics that began in the summer.
Pam Rodolph, H.W., M. and Janet Cornwell, H.W., m. took on responsibility for managing content on The Prosperos website, and William Fennie, H.W., M. continued work on the Prosperos Heritage Project at the Audio Center.
Regular meetings of the Board of Trustees, the Mentors Association, and the High Watch helped to coordinate efforts across numerous fronts.
Mentors Association
President Calvin Harris reports that "the World has evolved and changed, and so have the concepts, tools, and expectations of Mentors in the counseling field. [During 2021] a program was created to make gaining the tools and methods of a high-impact counselor, and the counseling business, easy to understand and navigate: efficient and measurable.
"The Advance Mentors Workshop (AMW) is now finishing its first of a two-year online program offered to a small number of students, mostly interning Mentors, to help them be the best Mentor version of themselves that they can be," Calvin writes.
High Watch
During 2021 The Prosperos High Watch held monthly meetings to keep members up to date on projects and activities of the School, reports President Janet Cornwell, H.W., m. Assembly, an important High Watch responsibility, has been postponed for two years due to the pandemic, but when a safe gathering becomes possible, the HW will resume planning and reporting. Meanwhile, the High Watch continues to provide support for the Teaching and for other student services such as the High Watch Translation Service. The High Watch was pleased this year to welcome a new member, Mara Pennell, H.W. !
Ongoing support
Student contributions for Sunday meeting, audio study, and other lessons, as well as general fund gifts, helped enormously to meet the day-to-day operating expenses of our School. Thank you so much for your continued support.
To all of our students and volunteers we wish an excellent New Year, and we look forward to continuing, with you and others, the exploration of the Innate Self which is the hallmark of Prosperos instruction.
The coming year promises to be one in which our mission, "to make Spiritual Truth an effective force for ordered freedom and common good," is more vital and important than ever.
