"Teachings"
(The writer’s group Pat belongs to begins their session with a 5-10 minute written exercise for the one and only purpose of being creative. Led only by a mere suggestion, freedom reins, stomps, glides, and then settles down to Pat’s homegrown messages that calms the heart and settles the soul. She is writing her memoirs and all us other writers wait eagerly from week to week to hear the next installment. This is her salute to that 5-10 minute exercise and will become self-explanatory.)
Learning about nature is a “no brainer” for little ones who are naturally curious about everything. As a child I was taken from my city home to the farm for several summers. There, I was exposed to many new and exciting adventures of nature: The raising of animals and the learning of their purpose to the farm, the growing of crops and experiencing the glory and hardship of tending them, but most interesting and enlightening, having a wise old man explain it all to me in in a “down-home” way that generated an adventure in itself. My little mind opened up like a sunflower in the field and soaked up the memories like a sponge. I filed those memories away as I moved through the most educational time of my life, learning from a true leader.
