What is something you WONDER about?
WONDER = to be curious and in doubt of something; exciting amazement
QUESTION: What is something that you wonder about?
STORY: When I was 20 years old, it was 1967 and there was a lot going on in the world around me: Racism, the Vietnam War. I marched with hundreds of people protesting and shouting “Make LOVE not war!” I wondered about the world around me. Racism seemed wrong to me. My dad told me that all people are the same beneath their skin. Plus there was no clear reason to go to war in Vietnam. So, in June 1968, at the end of my junior year of college, I took a leave of absence and flew to San Francisco. I was curious about LSD and marijuana. I wondered: Who are the hippies? I lived with hippies for 6 months. I’m so grateful that I let myself be guided by my WONDER and my own CURIOSITY! I did this self portrait when I came home in November.
