Whisper
WHISPER = to speak very softly; speech without vibration of the vocal cords
QUESTION: Is something whispering to you right now?
STORY: Every morning, today and for the last, gosh, maybe twenty years, I sit quietly with my pen and my little NoteSketchBook - and I listen for a “WHISPER” from my Inner Self. It may be an idea or remarkable insight or it could be a feeling of tension in my body. It’s just good to relax, center myself and allow my own thoughts to flow before I pick up the computer and get blasted with the Internet, emails, etc. This is my “whisper time”! It may last only 5 minutes or it may last 30 minutes. Not every day, but sometimes I also use my pen to play with drawing a line. To help me draw out my imagination, I allow a visual image to emerge from squiggles that go up and down, left and right and then, suddenly I see a nose or a forehead or a chin. I develop it until the image whispers something to me. Play with this yourself and I’ll bet that you’ll hear a “WHISPER” from your Inner Self!
QUOTE
“Listen to the whispers you hear from within, give your soul the voice to be heard.” ~ Dee Waldeck
“All of nature begins to whisper its secrets to us through its sounds. The sounds that were previously incomprehensible to our soul now become the meaningful language of nature.” ~ Rudolf Steiner
“When you hit a groove, it's not you; it's the spirit world. The spirits whisper the ideas in your brain and prod you along. They're the ones that are really happy.” ~ Tommy Chong
EXERCISE
STOP.
Relax.
Sit quietly with your pen and paper and listen for a “whisper” from your Inner Self. It may be a feeling of tension in your body. It may be a thought. It may be an emotion. Just listen to it and write words that come close to expressing this “whisper”.
And if you have another minute, play with lines and squiggles until the “whisper” takes form.
