POET'S CORNER

(Dharma name:  Satya)

(A haiku is a type of short-form poem that originated in Japan. Haiku poems are typically written in three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third. They are unrhymed, but some poets may choose to rhyme the first and third lines for added challenge. Haiku poems often focus on nature or the seasons, and emphasize simplicity, intensity, and directness of expression.)

SLEEP

Golden sun beams fall

on a supine, sleeping cat

dreaming of soft hands.

I'M HERE

A silky cat tail

wraps around my lower leg,

seeking connection.

HABITS

Old habits die hard.

They linger in dark corners

where they stay in charge.

MORNING WALK

Green, breezy mornings,

hiking on the upward trail.

Using old muscles.

TRANSITION TRIPSYCH

    STEP 1: SHOW DOWN

                Get out! Get out now

the words echo in my mind,

                and leave scars unhealed.

    STEP 2: WORLD VIEW

                Thought moves at light speed,

                Triggering neurons within

                Shaping your whole world.

  STEP 3: A CLEAR MIND

              Universal mind

Clears the table of all lies.

                     Truth's beacon shines out.
