STORY: When I was about 10 years old, I was playing outdoors. I do not remember what I banged into - but I hurt my knee. I came indoors kinda thinking my mom might help me with this knee. But she wasn’t home. My sister wasn’t home. My dad was in Chicago. So I realized that I would have to take care of my knee myself. I sat down at my mom’s desk and just kinda focused my mind on my knee. I imagined that my knee and I sat together sharing the pain. I was amazed that after only about 5 or 10 minutes - my knee actually, really felt much better. I did not do anything. I did not treat it with warm water or cold water. I did not put any salve on it. I just paid attention to it. I cared about it. I even loved it. I learned that my mind can be a healing energy and I began to identify with it more and more.
