New moon patterns for January

Conflict
For this cycle of the moon we are faced with intractable and ongoing conflict that is seen by the participants as a matter of survival. Only an act of imagination can breach these dug-in attitudes and positions. It will take vast imagination, but the resources for that seem to be available. It will require, however, that people act from their highest interest of the good of humanity rather than their own self interest. This is a tall order in any circumstance but indications suggest the possibility.
While a lot of energy is focused on external developments, the new moon pair is unaspected, disconnected. In a way, that could symbolize the Biden presidency. This is the new moon for the month when the Biden presidency will end. It is unaspected, and he is alone; there is no doubt about that.
A long shadow
It’s quite interesting that Jimmy Carter passed on about 24 hours prior to this new moon conjunction. His funeral will be held on January 9, after lying in state in the U.S. Capitol for five days, and so he and his legacy will cast a shadow over all the events of this coming cycle. I imagine the president-elect, for all his condolences, must feel quite irritated to have Jimmy Carter rain on his parade, as it were.
The imagination and the arts will be prominent during January, which certainly fits the runup to the Oscars.
Overall, this period is deeply tied into individual survival and the needs that come with individual survival. As mentioned above, the sun moon conjunction is unaspected, and there can be a deep sense of isolation and aloneness.
