My Joseph Story
In a recent R.H.S. Workshop, Heather Williams asked us to write our “Joseph's Story” about an incident that happened. Mine was as follows:
I received my first box of “hand-me-downs” from my rich cousins at the age of nine years. I was amazed that it contained a pair of jeans that fit perfectly. It was my first pair, ever. The next
morning I was slow getting ready for church so my mother and my siblings went ahead to secure our favorite seats, so I rushed to get dressed, deciding to wear my new jeans. I quickly pulled them on and rolled the legs up into cuffs like the big girls wear; then I hurried across the street to church. When I proudly entered through the heavy double doors brother Sanders was just taking his place at the podium. He commented, before the entire congregation, that my attire was inappropriate and I should go home right away and change. Chuckles and giggles arose from the congregation as I turned and ran from the church. This was a big blow to my ego because my “coat of many colors” was not accepted by my peers as well as my leader. I felt crushed; which contributed to my already present introvert tendencies. I pushed the memory inward and it was not resolved until I found Releasing The Hidden Splendour through theProsperos. It was the first class I attended with Thane at the age of 19. Now I am reviewing andredoing my a R.H.S.for the second or third time, because I may have forgotten to include my siblings for being among the hecklers.
