QUESTION: How do your thoughts structure your life?
STORY: It wasn’t until after my mother’s major heart attack - that I began drawing lines on paper without a thought of where the line was going or what it was going to be. I believe it began when I was sitting at her bedside for hours unable to talk with her because she was hooked up to so many machines. My right hand held her left hand. My left hand was doing nothing - and so, I decided to get out my pen and paper and just allow a line to play. It was easy to let a line move around and create itself. Simple shapes unfolded for a while and at some point a meaningful thought came to me. And quite often, but not always, a deeper meaning inspired me to develop it further. Like how this little drawing of puzzle pieces floated above the ground and I saw them expressing how my thoughts structure my daily life. EXERCISE
STOP.
Sit quietly.
Assume an erect posture. Sense the breath.
Sit calmly and feel the energy of LIfe flowing through your body and your thoughts.
Get your pen and paper and allow the energy to flow through your hand as you draw simple lines that flow with your thoughts.
Move forward into your day open to the guidance of a new thought.
