BE = to have identity with; to have an objective existence (as I think therefore I AM); live

QUESTION: Are you BEING or are you just DOING?

STORY: Everyday I DO things. Everyday I’m sure you also DO things - like driving a car, doing the dishes, typing on the computer, eating a snack, reading a book. When we DO something we manipulate the world around us to accomplish a purpose. I drive a car to get from my home to another place. My hand holds the car key and opens the door. My hands manipulate the wheel as I turn. My feet press against the brake pedal or the gas pedal. While the ability to DO is important and valuable - the ability to BE is actually more important and far more valuable! It was Gurdjieff who said: “In order to DO it is necessary to BE.” Well, what does it mean to BE? BEING is called Soul, Attention, Consciousness. BEING is undeveloped in ordinary life - and - is developed only through conscious effort. To BE - is to BE PRESENT in the moment - and to BE PRESENT in the moment is to pay attention to yourself and to the world around you at the same time. STOP.

Sit quietly. Assume an erect posture.

Sense the breath.

Sit calmly and BE open to BEINGNESS - your Higher Consciousness.

Remember your INNATE Self is always BEING here now available to you.

Get your pen and paper and write words or draw lines expressing how you feel BEING here now.

Move forward into your day BEING PRESENT in whatever you are DOING.
