Fabric
FABRIC = a material that resembles cloth; a thing made; an underlying structure (as in the fabric of society); texture; quality
QUESTION: What is your role in the fabric of humanity?
STORY: I love Leonardo da Vinci’s drawing of a piece of fabric draped over someone’s knees. So one day I copied his drawing. Here it is. Well, let’s talk about FABRIC as something that is wonderful to draw and also FABRIC is an important metaphor to explore in each person’s unique journey of coming to KNOW THYSELF. Picture the fabric of society as an essential underlying structure that holds people together in a shared community. We must remember that humanity is very much related to the natural world (trees, water, air, birds, bees, etc.). Today the social fabric of humanity is being ripped apart by leaders who use fear to divide the people - and by governments and the military that are authorizing biological weapons research. Plus pharmaceutical corporations are authorizing vaccines without proper scientific research and wealthy elites are promoting transhumanist agendas. Today we don’t even know who is in charge of the roll out of Artificial Intelligence. It is very important for each human being to take charge of the FABRIC of our own attention and to be curious. No one can do this for you. If you are interested in connecting with the Natural FABRIC of Life - check out my Ontology Work Chamber: https://www.drawingtogether.com/workchamber
QUOTES
“Nature uses only the longest threads to weave her patterns, so that each small piece of her fabric reveals the organization of the entire tapestry.” ~ Richard P Feynman
“Principles are deep fundamental truths... lightly interwoven threads running with exactness, consistency, beauty and strength through the fabric of life.” ~ Stephen Covey
“Nowhere is the relation of a creature to its surroundings due to a single cause and effect; each living thing is bound to its world by many threads, all weaving the intricate design of the fabric of life.” ~ Rachel Carson
EXERCISE
STOP.
Sit quietly. Assume an erect posture.
Sense the breath.
Sit calmly and feel the fabric of your life. There are many threads that make up the fabric of your life.
Get your pen and paper and write words or draw lines expressing the threads that connect you with others and those that disconnect you with others.
Move forward into your day knowing you have an important role to play in the fabric of humanity.
